Deutsche Telekom becomes national partner of EURO 2024
Deutsche Telekom has become an official national partner of UEFA EURO 2024 taking place in Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024, which – in an unprecedented three pillar approach - will see the German telecommunications company provide telecommunications services for the tournament, as well as being a national sponsor and media rights and broadcast partner.
As the official telecommunications services partner, Deutsche Telekom will ensure the networking at the 10 host venues, the 24 team base camps and training bases, as well as all official fan zones in the host cities. These will be linked to UEFA's International Broadcast Centre (IBC) in Leipzig, from where the TV images of all matches are broadcast worldwide. Telekom will also set up and operate the extensive IT networks (LAN and WLAN) in the stadiums to ensure smooth transmission of TV images and communication for media representatives, as well as incorporating UEFA EURO 2024 headquarters and its data centres into the overall network.
Additionally, as part of the national sponsor partnership, Deutsche Telekom will present UEFA's flag-bearer programme and recruit the national flag-bearers for all matches. Furthermore, the sponsorship package includes presence during all matches on the perimeter boards, digital rights on UEFA's platforms visible in Germany, use of the UEFA EURO 2024 logo, as well as activation rights in the fan zones of the host cities where Deutsche Telekom will show all matches via MagentaTV at the official public viewings in Germany.
Lastly, after having already acquired the media rights to show all 51 UEFA EURO 2024 matches live on the dedicated Deutsche Telekom platform, MagentaTV, it has now been confirmed that four group stage matches and one round of 16 match will be shown in Germany exclusively on this channel.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said: “UEFA is thrilled to welcome Deutsche Telekom to the UEFA EURO 2024 commercial partner family.
